Migration Health Assessment

From the moment of its inception, the Migration Health Assessment Programme (MHAP) has performed over 120,000 migration health assessments for migrants and refugees on behalf of the governments of the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.  In 2007, IOM Ukraine performed 12, 667 physical examinations.

Since 2002, IOM Ukraine Medical Services have operated the Medical Rehabilitation Centre for victims of trafficking, providing medical and psychosocial care.

IOM Ukraine addresses the needs of individual migrants as well as the public health needs of host communities through polices and practices that meet the latest challenges facing mobile populations today. The main activities developed under this programme in Ukraine are:

· Migration Health and Travel Assessment;
· Medical Rehabilitation Centre for victims of trafficking;
· HIV/AIDS prevention programmes for mobile populations.
