IOM Ukraine?s partner NGOs are at a national auto rally this week, campaigning against trafficking for transplantation of human organs. Under the slogan ?Only Cars for Spare Parts? the activists are driving through 10 oblasts of Ukraine, stopping to disseminate leaflets and conduct short trainings at schools and colleges of small towns and villages en route of the auto rally. The auto rally will pass through Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskiy, Ternopil, Chernivtsi, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattia, and Rivne oblasts. Dnipropetrovsk oblast was the first one to see the auto rally on Friday, 25 November. The National Auto Rally will finish on 2 December, the International Day for the Abolition of Slavery.

Ethnic Koreans living in Dzhankoi district of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea received micro-loans for the development of their small businesses and fostering their better integration into the socio-economical life of the Crimean Peninsula. During the ceremony held at Dzhankoi District Administration, IOM Ukraine?s Project Manager Vlad Ostryanskiy presented certificates for UAH 20,000 loans to six ethic Koreans. The project is funded by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea and implemented by IOM Ukraine through partner NGOs in Crimea, Kherson, Mykolayiv, Odesa, Zaporizhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kirovohrad regions.

IOM Ukraine participated in Tolerance Day activities, organized for Kyiv adolescents by the Kyiv City Centre of Social Services for Family, Children and Youth. During the interactive event at the Kyiv City Hall, representatives from IOM, UNICEF, Danish Refugee Council, the International Women?s Rights Centre ?La Strada Ukraine? and others helped to develop projects related to countering violence and gender stereotypes among youth and promoting tolerance towards visible minorities, handicapped persons and people living with HIV. Over 150 teenagers from Kyiv schools? self-government participated in the event.
