IOM Ukraine?s specialists on counter-trafficking and counteracting xenophobia took part in a library fair in ?Ukrainskyi Dim? (Kyiv) to reach out to a broader audience through the distribution of handouts and publications to librarians from all over Ukraine, who would share them with their readers. The fair was organized by the Bibliomist programme, the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, the National Parliamentary Library of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Library Association, the USAID Parliamentary Development Program II, the Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy, and others.

The Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States (IPA CIS) and IOM signed a cooperation agreement in Saint Petersburg on Friday, 18 May. The agreement, signed by IPA CIS Council Chair Valentina Matvienko and IOM Director General William Lacy Swing at the Tavricheskiy Palace, lays the ground for closer cooperation in the areas of CIS migration policy development and harmonization of CIS migration legislation with international law.

From 2-5 May, IOM hosted a study trip to Brussels for a high-level delegation of Ukrainian Government officials including First Deputy Minister of Social Policy, Mr. Vasyl Nadraha, Head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Human Rights, National Minorities and International Relations, Mr. Oleh Zarubinskyi, First Deputy Head of the State Migration Service, Mr. Viktor Sheibut, Director of the State Employment Service, Mr. Petro Petrashko and Third Secretary of the Unit on Consular and Legal Issues of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Yuliia Pomazan.
