IOM to provide cash assistance to vulnerable IDPs in 13 regions of Ukraine

IOM continues its programme supporting the most vulnerable displaced persons.

The Project “Multipurpose Cash Transfers to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Ukraine”, funded by the Government of Germany, will be active in  Vinnytsia , Cherkasy, Zhytomyr, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Kherson, Zaporizhia,  Donetsk and Luhansk  (Government-controlled area) regions.  

Cash assistance will be provided to recently arrived IDPs who meet the following criteria:

  • elderly people 70+ years old;
  • families with three or more children;
  • disabled persons (I, II  disability group) who lost their employability and obtained relevant documents;
  • Families with disabled children;
  • Single-headed families.

The project will serve 4,350 IDPs (335 persons per region) during the first round of payments in May-July 2016. Beneficiaries will receive UAH 1,980 per person for three months (UAH 660 per month).
